Mothers day

On Mothers Day this year, a woman came to the Butterfly House. She seemed to be a bit sad and emotional. I went over to speak with her and share some interesting facts about the different species of butterflies and I am glad I did. She had lost her mother a few years back, and the day before her mother passed they had taken a trip to the butterfly house. Her mother had a butterfly land on her and stick with her for the entire time they were in the house. It brought her mother so much joy that day. The next day, sadly, her mother passed and that memory has stuck with the woman ever since. She comes to the butterfly house every Mothers Day to relive that beautiful memory she had with her mother.

It is days like these that you cannot take for granted. Each one of us is on our own journey and struggling with our own issues. However, little beautiful moments seem to always stick with us when we least expect it. Happy Mothers Day to not only the mothers, but to all those who have lost their mothers as well.

The Keeper

My life has just begun as a butterfly keeper, but the idea of keeping this has been prominent in my heart for a long time. Ever since I was young, I have had a fascination with the natural world and how Mother Earth works. Anything from the shape of rocks, to the movement of the waves. Each aspect of the natural world is correlated in some way. My life goal is to study and conserve the beautiful world we live in. This blog will be about my journey of learning about Mother Earth and her glory. I hope you stick around and enjoy!
